I've never fished for stripers and being boatless I can't get to the deep water. Is there anywhere on toona to get them from the shore? Do they come in shallow at some point in the year? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Steve, If I was shorebound and had to catch a hybrid or a stripe I'd be where that "X" is in Coopers Branch. Look at the map sticky above.

In March, I see hybrids VERY close to shore on the south side of Iron Hill. That would be the shoreline from Allatoona Pass back to the old Iron Hill boat ramp.
As Mike said, Coopers seems to have fish in close to the bank.

There is a road leading back into that Iron Hill area. Goes past the boat ramp and at least over as far as the 13A cove. I have seen hibryds and stripers chasing bait fish in and out of both of those coves. You can even walk out to the end of 13A and you wont be too far from deep water either.
Just don't fish there in the spring, that is my secret spot and no one else ever fishes there except for about 50 or so tournament fishing guys ;D. The trees dropped over there do hold fish. in the spring & summer.

Could you tell me how to get to the iron hill ramp from Cartersville? Thanks! Perch, I just added Iron Hill ramp to the map. It's not operable ie not open for use. But you can walk to it. Allatoona Map
