Fishing is OK. If you believe or learn anything from the moon phases at all, the one given is that anytime you have a new or full moon the schooling bite goes to heck in a hand basket compared to slightly before or after said moon phases.

Earlier in the week before the new moon the schooling bite was strong and off the charts from Blockhouse all the way to Little River. It was just a matter of driving and looking in key areas. The day before yesterday sucked really bad (new moon). Today wasn't much better so I knew not to waste my time and gas on the schooling bite and concentrate on finding different fish.

Today I concentrated on windblown stuff and it panned out pretty good. I threw buzzbaits with one fish and the rest of my dozen fish were caught on the 5 inch Albino White Bull Shad and Senkos with the Bull getting 8 of the 12. I caught fish on laydowns, long points and also on the flats. 4 of the fish I got were in the shoreline trees we cut last year. The rest were scattered about. I just put the Trolling motor on high and covered water. Todays fish were pretty strong on quality with several 2lb + fish today on the small swimbaits.

As the days progress the schooling bite should pick back up.

Here is todays best fish.
