Hey Gentlemen I just thought of this, the last time I was home and had the boat on the water…. I got the boat planed out I kept noticing that the motor would be getting lower and lower and finally setting all the way down on the jack plate, I make my necessary adjustments again to the motor to get it where I want it only to look back by the time I stop to see it almost all the way down on the jack plate again, I haven’t seen any leaks, now when I am going down the road it will leak down and be setting on the lines and almost cut one, so had to cut some 2x4 blocks to hold the motor up while going down the road, any Ideas on what it is and how much it will cost to get it fixed?

Are you talking about a hydrolic jack plate or your tilt/trim? Either way it sounds like you may just be low on hydrolic fluid.

There is a check valve on all the systems, when it goes out the cylinders will come back down. Definitely NOT a shadetree mechanic job, since there are special wrenches required to break these units down.

You know I guess it might be the tilt and trim, I really have not had the time to look at it being 7,000 + miles away... I just wanted to get it in the water the last time I was there and play a little bit. but now wanted to get some input on it, so I would have a starting point on what to look for when I get back and your input makes alot of since... thanks pbmang appreciate the post
