Hi I'm Stephen, I bought an 86 Venture Regatta 17.5' with an Evinrude 90hp back in May and have been fishing up at Rocky Mountain PFA in Rome to get used to the boat and work on some techniques. I've been fishing Allatoona since late July mostly blue gill and catfish but want to find some Bass. I've fished several areas of the lake and just can't find them. I usually put in at Red Top MTN and have been running over toward Carver park and the stretch of lake between Red Top and there.
Thanks, Stephen

Welcome to the board Stephen. Allatoona is a difficult lake to figure out, but if you read the reports you will start to get an idea of what works. Have you been doing any good at RMPFA? I haven't been up there in quite a while. Again welcome!

Welcome to the forum. The Red Top area can be quite good at times. But like anywhere else on toona you gotta be at the right time at the right place with the right lure.

Welcome! I actually work in Rome but live in Woodstock. Great information to gather here from a bunch of helpful fellers! You got a question, just post it and you will get several answers or opinions. Keep spending that time on the water and it will make you better for sure!

I've been having decent luck at RMPFA, I've pulled a couple of 2-4 pounders from some brushy areas with stumps that are about 2-3 feet deep. They seem to like rooster tails and spinner baits regardless of time or temperature. I've caught a couple of smaller one on a shallow crankbait as well.
Thanks for all the warm welcomes.

If you've been recently to that area you can't miss them at first light?
