OK, it's time to get up off of our duffs and put some new structure in the water. My plan is to meet at Red Top Ramp at 9:00 AM on Saturday October 1st. I believe we shall finish up by 1:00PM or there abouts. Of course you can launch from any ramp you want but we will meet at Red Top. We will fill out new release forms, hold a safety meeting, make up some new cables and then head out by boat to cut some trees just in time for the Fall Bash. Mike and I scouted out some areas this last Monday and I think they will be real good producers in the future. So all you guys that have said you want to help cut, now is your chance. Please make a post on this thread if you plan on attending. You do not have to have a boat to help we will get you where you need to go. You do not need to have a chain saw to help, we always need someone to attach the cables to the cut trees. All you need to attach the cables is a large hammer. The nails we use are definetly "Man Size", see picture below. And you would be surprised what we have drove them into in the past: Of course if you have either a boat or a chainsaw we encourage you to bring them. And everyone that helps will be given the password to the protected forum of "Tree Cutting Maps". So what do you say we make this a huge turnout and have a fun and rewarding day of fellowship and help our home lake in the process. TIMBERRRRRRRRRRRRRR..............

is there going to be a meeting or anything for new ppl that havent done this before? thanks Matt Matt this is one reason why I hold the safety meeting. During that time we will discuss the procedures that we use to safely cut the trees and find out who has not been a part of the program in the past. I will then pair up new cutters with an experienced cutter until the new cutter feels comfortable cutting on their own, if we feel that is needed. The procedure is really quite simple but does differ from the traditional notch and back cut procedure of felling trees. On a side note if you have them you will want to bring work gloves, safety glasses and hard hat. Please wear long pants and comfortable boots as we do incounter some rough terrain. I will have some extra hard hats if you do not have one. I look forward to meeting you on the 1st.

Charlie I am looking forward to meeting you and yes from I-75 go across the steel bridge (Bethany Bridge) and then turn left into the parking/ramp area. I will be in a White w/gold lower trim Ford F-150 Lariat w/black bed cover. There is a $5 parking fee if you do not have the State Pass, this is not a COE ramp.

Hey guys come on we need to load up on people!!!! Let Ray know if you are going to be there. The more trees we get cut, the more places for the fish to hide, and us to catch them. Looks like the turn out might be fewer than what I had hoped for Cliff, but we will do what we can and have fun doing it. I am hoping to have another cutting later this year, but with my work situation that is a less than 50/50 chance of happening at this time.

What time do y'all usually get finished? I would love to come and help but I have to work 10-2. I can be to the lake by 3. It would be my self and 1 other.
