Yesterday was a weird day. Early on I got a fish on the Ribbit frog within minutes of the Comer Bridge ramp. WE were thinking, "Alright!! Game on", but there would be a loooonnnngg dry spell before we got another fish. Roughly 7 hours later and a ramp change to Mud Creek and a decision to go back up the creek to the shallow flats. WE discovered several locals drifting through the dying pads in 2 to 3' of water, with scattered clumps of milfoil and hydrilla. The wind was blowing pretty good, but you could see bass all over the place. They were feeding on the gizzard shads and threadfin shads. Finally I found a Smokey Joe Super Fluke that had about the same appearance as the Gizzards color wise. That was a good choice! The following pictures were taken over the next 2-3 hours before dark. there were some little fellows in the mix that didn't get the camera: Enjoy!
