I am pleased to announce the launch of The Cast-a-Way Bass Club of Northwest GA. A group of anglers inluding Bob Smith, Chris Wade, Tom Grant, Keith Ridenour, Stan Knowles, and myself have worked to establish a format that may appeal to many of you. This club is NOT affiliated with any organization and is geared toward friendly competition and comradery. If you are interested in learning more, please PM any of us and we'll email you more details.

Wayne, I thought I emailed a copy of the rules, by-laws, point system, etc to you. If you guys are interested, send us your personal email addresses and full name via PM either here or on the GFF and we will send you everything including the lake selection for next year. Andy is our Pres, Chris is the VP/Treasurer, I am the TD and Tom is the Assistant TD, Stan is the Alternate to the Pres and Keith the alternate to the VP/Treasurer.
The club is set up on an individual format, but non-boaters are welcome too. We will not draw or pair the boaters and non-boaters, non-boaters need to coordinate that with whoever is willing to let them ride. There will be no championship or "fish off". The Angler of the year is based on the highest point total from your 8 best tournaments. if you fish all 10 tournaments , the two worst will be dropped. If you fish less than 8 tournaments they will all count. The membership dues are $25, and the monthly tournament fees are $25. ($5 for big bass, $20 to the creel to be paid out 1plc for every 5 entries). There will also be a Calcutta pot $2.00 optional for catching a trophy bass of 7 pounds or greater, if more than one is weighed then the largest bass wins the pot, and the pot starts over. We are considering 7 pounds for largemouth, 6 pounds for Smallmouth, 5 pounds for Spotted.
There are 10 lakes in next years schedule, all of those lakes are selected within a 100 mile (as the crow flies) radius of I-75 and HWY 92 (Acworth). 9 of those lakes will be one day, the October tournament will be a two day event (full day on Saturday, and start to 1:00 PM finish on Sunday) with plans to have a cookout and get together on Saturday night.
The meeting place will be Center Street Tavern in downtown Acworth. This is a brand new place with great food and the perfect meeting room! They are looking forward to taking care of us!
Send us your contact information because the rules are simple and by-laws are geared to make this low key competitive club with more of an emphasis on building a club of freinds!
