Your green and brown wires are the turn signal and brakes. The yellow is the common power source and the white is the ground. Check the ground from the truck to the connection and from the connection to the trailer (most often the trailer side is not actually connected, it should be fastened for the best results). The common Blk is also a good place to check. Depending on the age of the trailer it sounds to me like you have a short somewhere in the Yellow or Blk wires.

I was wondering if you had the trailer hooked to the hitch on your truck or not. If not it will need to be grounded. If it is hooked up it still may be a ground issue. I know the first time I was trying to wire my truck to my first boat I was trying to wire it without hooking up the trailer to the hitch on my truck. Lesson learned about grounding the trailer. Good luck, I hope this may help.

Thanks for all your help guys. I ended up tracking the problem to the fuse box under the hood. Seems that my Duramax has a fuse box just for the towing applications. Its was a blown 15amp mini fuse...LOL I replaced the fuse and now i have running lights again...

It is the best place to start (easiest first). Glad you found the problem.
