Our next meeting is May 23, 2012 at the Center Street Tavern and Grill in Acworth. If you plan to fish the Lake Wedowee Tournament on May 26th, you need to have your money to us before or at the meeting. Come on our and enjoy some fine food and conversation!

For those of you who wish to look up the regulations for Lake Wedowee, it is listed as Harris Reservoir in the Alabama regulations. There is a 13" to 16" slot limit for largemouth. This means that, for our club, only largemouth between 12" (club imposed minimum) and 13" or bass over 16" may be weighed. The club imposed minimum of 12" applies to spotted bass. There were no mention of smallmouth for the lake, and there is no state mandated minimum mentioned. So if by some freak occurence you catch a smallmouth use the club minimum of 12" as the rule. If someone can find evidence to refute this I will be glad to see what you have.

20 folks will slug it out tomorrow on lake Wedowee. Regardless of if you are one of those folks or getting outdoors tomorrow doing something else, be careful. It is going to be very hot, with very intense sunlight. So wear that sunscreen and stay hydrated! I will let ya'll know the results tomorrow night!  |
