Out on the water this morning alone, after my youngest son decided he wanted to sleep in before returning to school tomorrow. Bait was tough this morning with about an hour and a half of throwing for 2 dozen shad. I figured with it being tough to catch bait, i'd have a great day catching fish, since usually when bait's easy the catching's hard:) However, that wasnt the case. It wasnt until after 9am that i landed my first fish. And it was another 30 - 45 minutes before I landed anything else. Overall a tough day of fishing with very few schools of fish marked... 1 fish on freeline, the other 3 on downlined shad. Water temps were 44 around victoria and 47 around bartow.

Gotta admire a man that catches his own bait and dinner.
