I know this board is dedicated to fishing the Toona but I'm wondering if you guys can recommend any good small water around the area that can be fished without the natives getting aggressive?
I'd like to take the boy out pond hopping this sunday since the boat isn't quite ready yet and he's starting to get hype about fishing together.
Any advice?

All EXCEPT Jim Miller Park....whcih I understand is by pemit only from the Park itself. There are several around. Now I have no idea if there are any fish in any of them......but I can let you know !

Sweetwater Creek State Park, Dog River resivoir in Douglasville. There are a couple of ponds by the cemetery on Highway 78 near Lithia Springs. The ponds that are part of the swamp on either side of Thornton Road are full of fish. Just about every swamp with a pond on it will be great fishing if you can get to them.
If ya cant get to any of what is listed here you could always go to Harrys Market in Marietta. Make sure you tell them to not clean the fish, that way when you walk in the door with a bunch of fish you wont have to explain why they have been cleaned already.....LOL

You can also go to this website www.n-georgia.com and click on 'Fishing Lakes' on the left side of this home page. this site also gives you info on where to go to visit the States fish Hatcheries which is free and a Big Time for Youngin's. On the 'Fishing Lakes' link it will show you all of the small lakes in Georgia to fish. this is a great family website because it has camping info at our State Parks also. Check out the Civil War info while you are on the site, great stuff ;D
