Without searching or goggling what is highest water level ever recorded on Allatoona and date. Will give you a hint. Where little river grill is now located there was a bait, some tackle and snacks in the store operated by Carl Hartman who was also a fisherman in Allatoona bass club. As I recall the water went into the back side of the store about waist deep, ok what are you answers. If I tell you anymore it will not be a challenge.

Can't give an exact answer but maybe I can help narrow it down. I remember having a similar discussion with Terrell Stoves at the COE and he said the lake has a maximum of 863' and it came within a few feet in the early to mid 60's.

Close enough Ray, At A Boy to Ray. On April 9, 1964 level was 861.19 and what is interesting was the level was extremely high for weeks. I always fished way up little river and would put in at Carl Hartmans bait and general store. I was going to Little River but the bridge was closed due to water level. Carl told me later that water had gotten about waist deep in one end of the store which is now known as Little River Bar and Grille.

That sounds about right. Around that time is when my dad and his fishing buddy went fishing and ended up fishing a flooded trailer park!! Pretty crazy.

Hahaha. I was actually being serious. With my dad thinking about it again he realized that it probably was not a smart idea. There could have been cables in the water that could of got caught in the prop. My dad has lived in Cobb County (Kennesaw-Acwoth-Marietta) since he was 4 and he is 54. The only thing he had to sell his bass boat soon after getting married (1984). So that's why you see me just now starting to get serious with bass fishing. I finally saved enough money to buy my own boat

Whatever happened to Carl Hartman??? He used to work with my Dad at Lockheed before he quit to run the store and boat shop.
