Anyone out there ever added the boat trailer glide ons to the loading bunks for easier and shallower loading. Could it damage the hull in any way? Don't really like having to excessively power the boat up on trailer. (BassCat Margay w/150)

I hear they also glide off backing down ramp. Keep winch hooked until you reach water's edge.

I know someone when loading his boat didn't hook to the bow eye and ended up dumping his boat on the ramp. So don't forget to hook the bow eye when loading before pulling the trailer out of the water. Do as halffast said also do not unhook from the bow eye until the trailer is in the water when unloading. I have never used these but from what I have read and know of they are very slick so be careful and have the bow eye hooked until in the water.

I never unhook until I'm getting in boat. I helped reload one that was dumped on ramp. It ain't pretty. Someone suggested to try a little Armor All on the bunks before loading the next time out. May have to re-apply every month or so; but better than taking a chance of scaring gelcoat.
Thanks for the replies and God Bless Jerry

:DMake sure you hook up the eye when you get the boat up on the trailer before you pull up the ramp as well.
