Hello everyone. I'm relatively new to Georgia bit not to fishing. Lived in Florida for 30+ years and fished for most of it either salt or freshwater. Now I'm here in the Marietta area without a boat so me and the kids will be bank fishing Allatoona for the time being. Hope to see some of you out there.

Welcome to Georgia, specifically to Allatoona! There is a lot of Bankfishing talk from time to time on here and even a map that shows some of the best bankfishing areas.

Welcome to Ga. I'm a transplant from FLA also. Fishing is a little different up here. There are good spots around Allatoona that are accessible for bank fishing. Around Red Top park, Clarks Creek, Bethany Bridge, and Blockhouse are all good walking spots. Plastics work best or most consistently, Green Pumpkin, Watermelon, and Junebug are a couple of colors that work well. Take your time, hit the local bait shops, visit this board and ask questions often. Overall, interesting fishery with a lot to offer.
