Its time to replace the trolling and cranking batteries. I have been looking at the Odyssey and the Optima blue top batteries. I was wondering if these batteries were worth the money. A buddy of mine told me he bought the interstate batteries and he likes them alot. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony, I don't know about the glass mat batteries because I just haven't been able to justify the cost. I use DEKA Series 31s on my trolling motor and series 29 dual purpose on the cranking and accessories. I usually get about 5 years out of them and I am normally in my boat at least once a week or more year round.

Thanks Bob. I have heard a lot of good things about the Deka batteries. May have to give them a try.
