I bet BASS wishes this classic was in March

I know that BASS wants to have their biggest event to open the season like NASCAR, but it is going to be miserable this week over at Hartwell. I know the Expo will still draw people and the weigh-in will be close to full, but why would you plan an event like this this time of the year. Just doesn't make much sense if you want people to show up and enjoy themselves.
KVD might even be glad this is the one he misses, it is going to be brutal Friday morning, temps expected to be around 10 degrees at takeoff.

Definitely going to be chilly. I'm sure Bass doesn't care one way or the other as long as the expo is sold out they get their $$$. On the bright side the expo will be packed!!

I heard the Classic Champ this year is taking home 300K, down from the 500k i think they usually get. Is this true and anyone know why?

Yeah Keith they changed that last year I think. I saw something about winning the classic though, if you win it and are a average marketer you can get about a million dollars from the sponsorships, if you are better than average then you can get a bunch more, just look at how well KVD has done off the water. He had KVD brand everything at this point.

My understanding, they changed the top prize to 300,000.00 to pay deeper into the field.....
