Anyone have some suggestions on mounting this transducer on a 1995 Stratos 278 on the transom? Looks like I'll have to remove existing 2d ducer and use this spot. Then get thru hull ducer for high speed readings. No jack plate on mine. Any suggestions appreciated.

Update. Ducer installed and working great. Mounted it under the upper step and left the 2d ducer in place.

Yes sir. Mounted just as you described. Works great. If something hits the transducer and kicks it up on the bracket, is it in a place that you will be able to reach over the transom and push it back in the correct position?

Yes. I will have it locked down though.
