Lake Draw Question

Is this some sort of pattern for when the lake goes down? i went to website and it said the lake was only down 1/4 - I get to my stomping grounds and its down 2 feet it seems and still pulling. Is it typical and can I count on after Labor Day the lake starts to go down? I found a more accurate website after the fact. Anyone know of a app for Allatoona lake levels? 

Side note - I was at a point and I trolled into all those small gnats (i guess that is what they are), I hear a little splash, look over and there is a pretty darn big large mouth with its head out of the water eating the bugs - seriously. I sling my worm over to that side of the boat and then instant bird nest - eghha, haha, it was pretty cool though. The thing was so big you could clearly see those holes on the bottom of the jaw.

Not sure on toona but West Point use to start after July 4th.

I suppose let me back up a bit, I so far uderstand that this lake draws down pretty early and I did notice it. But, today, compared to last weekend was significant. I have some photo's I was just looking at and it looks to be a 2 -3 foot draw. 

Maybe, its to draw out all the beer bottles from the other "boaters"?!?! It was kind of like a mine field today with the bottles. I like me some beer and all, but, jeeze, no reason to toss them over board.

I agree.  I fished yesterday and the water was much lower than the website said.   However the top water bite had picked up a lot from last week as well. Caught a nice stringer on a buzz bait before noon.

Rhino, look at the bottom of this page and you will see several links for water level. The one I use is the "Official Lake Allatoona Water level". It has the current and also the 5 week forecast level. The should start the official drawdown on Allatoona any day now. The lake drop you see right now is due to river flow requirements and not enough rain in the watershed.
