Little river, what am i looking at?

Hey guys i had a quick question! I've been down to little river(rope mill park) and have been noticing two fish i cant idenitfy.

The first one being a somewhat slender looking fish with light orange fins, it appears to have a silver body with no markings that i can see. I see them in the shallows of the river in maybe 2 feet of water in schools of about 5.
I have no idea what they are but i did notice they kinda turn their bodys and show the side of themselves as if they are eating off the bottom. The appear to be around 6-12 inches in length! I thought maybe perch or carp? but can they be silver in appearance? maybe just juveniles of something?
 
The next one being a blocky looking silver fish, i've only seen two schools under the bridge at the park, they were scared of any lure i tossed in. At first i assumed some type of whitebass but once again i couldnt make out any markings, my guess was fresshwater drum? only thing i could compare them to. But i dont know what you can get this far up. They were also in schools of 3.


I've also tried many different lures with no success.

1st kind may very well be perch. yummy.

Not sure but I definitely would like to know. Trout is all I can think but eating off the bottom is quit odd-

What you describe sounds like big Shad. Shad can grow quite large and typically turn a little sideways when eating.
