New to Allatoona - Advice needed

Hey everyone,
New to Allatoona and generally boating. Any advice on what to watch out for and places to put in? Thinking Galts might not be bad. Planning on going out the first time on the 20th. Any things I should be concerned about? Obstructions, logs, that kind of thing?

I have been fishing the lake a little less than a year.
It is pretty easy to navigate. Galts, Victoria, Gatewood, Blockhouse are all good ramps. I am confident that all the major marina ramps are pretty much the same.
As far as hazards, the lake is marked well. "STAY AWAY" from the white poles. They are marking reefs and points that are typically very shallow. Ease around and pay attention to boat traffic patterns and you shouldn't have any problem.

One safety note if you are new to boating. The weekend starting now until Sept is tuff on the lake due to traffic. Lots of BIG boats making BIGGER waves.
Along with lots of Jet Skis. It quickly becomes like an ocean when all those big boats start moving. Just a word of Caution.

Thanks Max. That's good advice. Looking forward to going out the first time. I'll be sure to take it easy and slow to start. Wanting to take the family out fishing the first time and spend time getting to know the boat and the lake.
