where in GA do you find shoal bass? I've got spots, large mouth, red eye under the belt, but no shoalies...

Are those the same thing as Rock Bass? We catch a similar fish out of Armuchee Creek, but they are not as big and I have heard people call them Rock Bass.

I just recently moved up here to Rome and found that creek to be an awesome fishing spot, caught a couple of nice ones on Monday and Tuesday. I was fishing behind Armuchee Park behind the ball fields, sum1 up here told me of another spot that I have not checked out yet by the elementary school!?!?!? Any info on where to go and catch em up here would be greatly appreciated...Thanks, Jay

Shoal Bass are in the Hooch, Flint and Ocumulgee in Georgia. I am sure any feeders into these tributaries also harbor Shoal Bass. Rock Bass and Shoal bass are 2 different species.

Mike at first I thought they were small mouth. Nice catch. Is the Rock Bass another name green sunfish? I have also heard stripers called rockfish.

stripers are Rock Fish. Rock Bass are I believe the same as Red Eye's. Look closer to a spot. Green Sunfish is what I call a google eye aka Warmouth perch.
