Water temp 83
Water Level 2.1ft low
Bass Fishing has been hit or miss lately. Something about constantly changing weather makes my deep fish move around alot. In the summertime for me it's all about the offshore stuff. I don't think I have fished the shorelines for more than 10 minutes in about 3 weeks now. It would be quite a bit easier if I could work my offshore stuff mid day without being bounced around by the cruiser waves as it gets really bad out there after 12 noon. This am I took out the legendary Dannyp this morning and he managed this nice mini mag spot despite all of the cruiser waves on offshore stuff. Basically what we are doing is working alot of humps, ledges and long points in the 25ft range. If you have brush on them then that just makes it spot on spot. I'm working jigs, spoons and also spot tails in these types of areas and I am getting a mixed bag of all types of fish from Stripes to Spots to Hybrids and even crappie. I wish I brought home my Humminbird Chip as I had a hilarious picture of my spoon working a school of hybrids and you can see how bad my boat was bouncing up and down due to the pleasure boat traffic. No need to jig the spoon up and down I just let the waves do that for me LOL.
Now Hybrids is another story they are bunching up very nicely and will only get stronger as the summer progresses. If you don't have a Humminbird Side Imaging man your job just got tougher in trying to find these schools of hybrids. It's a constant drive around until you see them on the SI then hunt them down from the top deck with the sonar and spoon. They are anywhere from 20 to 40ft deep and are in fairly big schools. Mon I had an easy 2 dozen in my boat all on the spoon. Most of them are a solid 2 to 5 lbs and mean! LOL. This morning I was fighting a nice 3 or 4lb hybrid and a 20 to 30lb whale Striper was following it LOL.
Next week I will be on Vacation in Las Vegas, NV for ICAST so no report next week. ;D
Here are some of the pics of Dannyp from this am.
This fish brought him to his knees LOL.
