Water Temp: 77-78
Water Level: 3.76 ft low
Water is still barely falling as it has only fallen .50 of a foot in a weeks time. The good news is the water temps have dropped roughly 3 degrees. Water is clear in some areas and slighly stained in others and stained in the very backs of the major creeks. Most of this stain is due to the high winds we have been having.
Fall is here and the fishing is pretty good right now. Earlier in the week I had two guys playing hookie from work and we stopped couting at 40+ spots mostly 2lbs or smaller. The prefrontal bite of this cold snap we have now really fired up the fish. We caught alot of fish on alot of different baits. buzzbaits, Sammies, wakebaits, swimbaits, spoons, jerkbaits and dropshot. We concentrated mostly about halfway back in the creek arms. I'm not sure it mattered what kind of structure you fished as they were coming off almost every type of structure known and the pattern was extremely easy to follow. My trips later in the week have been a little bit slower mostly due to spending time hunting for bigger fish. The swimbait bite is developing nicely. Not strong yet but it is getting there. We have had several GOOD followers and I actually lost a very nice fish on the big baits that would have made a very nice photo opportunity..
I don't have any openings for the rest of September and I am starting to book for October. October is by far the best month in the fall time of the year. LOTS of different tactics will work including Swimbaits. If your interested in a trip email me and lets get you on the calender early before the dates are gone. .
