Water temps 45-50 Water Clarity stained to clear Water level 10ft low and steady
Fishing is still doing good. I had some tougher trips this week size wise but still getting some decent numbers. I went out with Ray Bowin and we tried experimenting a little by making the run up the river around knox bridge area. If you run up that way be very careful if you haven't done it before. It's easy if you know where to run but it can be a very expensive lesson if you don't. Navionics is NOT extremely accurate on this portion of the lake so don't rely on it to keep you in the channel. The water was very clear water but very very cold at 36 degrees. We didn't do very well there but made the run back down the lake and found a few float n fly fish but nothing special. Since then the water temps have warmed up considerably and I have seen some 52ish degree water in a few places and they are starting to hit some reaction baits now. LVR's, Staysee 90's Tackle Doctor Spinnerbaits and any crankbait of your choice are starting to pick up some fish now on the flats. If our nice temps stick around I would expect a major wave of big largemouth to move shallow very very soon as some of them are already being caught. For me it's a slow roll deal right now. Still not ripping the baits like it's spring time but just cruise it along and you will get bit.
I will be on the lake everyday next week as it's becoming "time" for "PIG" Hunting.
