OK, I know I said we would start in mid March but I had a little problem with the work schedule and Honey-Do list. Then with the AllatoonaBass Spring Fling Tourney on the 28th and people (me) wanting to prefish on the 21st that pretty well used up March. I also have to have some time to make up the cables which will take me several hours.
Sooooooooooooooooo, I am scheduling the 1st cutting session for this year on Saturday April 4th time and place to be announced later. Hope to see you all then.

I know of this big red clay washout with a tree marked in it. We can surely find some red clay to keep your boat clean. Heck, I still have mud stains on mine from the last tree cutting. 'Course, I didn't spend 4 hours cleaning it. Decided right then that it was the last low water cutting I would do. The water is up, so I should be good for this one.

You are right bassboy, water up tree cutting is the way to go. But for me it's because you get the best splashes ;D

As of right now I plan on meeting at Blockhouse at 10:30 AM this Saturday morning. I have somebody who is going to check out the area that we are going to cut to see if it is cuttable at this time, make sure that the trees are not in the water with the higher levels from the rain. I will post again if any thing changes. Hope to see you all there Saturday.

I will try and make this one . I wear krocs when working in the mud, They rinse off easy and you can get cheap ones at wally. I know I know sissy shoes but they are awesome in the mud and can be dunked before getting in the boat.

I'm afraid it is going to be to wet, muddy and slippery this Saturday to safely cut trees therefore I am calling off this cutting session. I hope everyone understands that I have to take safety first and foremost and there is no need to risk someone slipping while holding a chainsaw. I will reschedule in the near future.

I was noticing the trees in Tanyard today, and decided that I didn't want to be around those in the conditions we are currently facing. And, if this wind keeps up, felling trees will not be safe at all.
