Water Clarity Stained to Clear
Water Level 2.01ft high and falling
Moon Phase: 1/2
Fishing is Good. I got out today with Kevin to look for some fish for Friday. We didn't catch alot of fish but the ones we did catch were solid keepers. Swimbaits in pockets is still the deal and will continue to be the deal for the next week or so for the largemouth. The spots are still off in deeper water. Fish head spin, dropshot and spoon for the deeper fish.
I am seeing signs of fish becoming more active as I am starting to see more followers when I am fishing the bull shad. I think over the next few days and if the weather holds things will get back to normal for us once the spots go on the bed the bite is usually wide open as Spots are very protective of their bedding area (moreso than largemouth). This has been a finicky spring this year and it's really been challenging to stay on the better fish.
Here is a shot of Kevin and I with 3 fish going 12lbs +. Between us we had a 16lbs 5 fish today with a mix of largemouth and smaller spots
