My 2005 Johnson starts out great but at 5000 RPM is cutting out. It gets out of the holes great and then gets up to 5000 with no problems but when I give a little more gas it starts missing.
I have noticed twice in the last couple of times it did not seem to go into gear correctly. When I put it in to gear it would knock. I took it out of gear and put it all the way down and had no problem. I notice today when check for the problem that when I put the motor in gear and go around turn the prop it would move about an inch then I could feel it catch. Could I have a lower unit problem?
