I have a 96 model Faststrike that since the water temps have cooled, it's hard to get it to idle down. Once it sits idling for 5 minutes, it will finally idle down below 800 rpm but as soon as the motor sits turned off for even 20 minutes, it want's to fast idle again. Most engines I've owned would only require a warm-up during the first start of the morning.
Is this a thermostat issue or something else??

these engines have alot of water pressure that will cool the block very well.when water temps get cooler, its not uncommon for these engines to cool and go back through the warm up.also these motors have to get 105f before they will come out of quick start/cold start.hope this helps.thanks shawn

Thanks Shawn,
It's more of an annoyance I guess than a problem but I wanted to make sure I didn't have any mechanical issues.
