I hope they do something about the morons that don't have a clue about boating rules, like the one that recently cut in front of my bow so I had to swerve to avoid him when I was pulling a skier.

Actually, I have never seen the DNR on Allatoona. I wish they would enforce the no wake rules in several areas of the lake.

I've seen them on the water before this year... of course they were PO'd because I "interrupted their afternoon nap before they go into the woods again that night". I'll be happy if they'll at least fairly judge the accidents the pleasure idiots cause.

yea i have never seen these guys on allatoona which shocked i fish a good bit on tellico lake/ft loudon lake in tennessee and they are everywhere on that lake forsure and if you are fishing and a boat pulling a skier flies by you they will stop them do a safety check and write them a citation for passing you too closely at high speed

Glad to see them out there;
I think they have been budget restrained of recent years. I would hope they are out there during the day too when the loonies are out there drinking and not just when us fishermen are.
It is such a shame that folks die due to not taking proper precautions. The only effective way to "educate" a lot of folks is a heavy presence of authority on the water.
If I ruled the world, I would instigate testing as well as licencing for all boaters. This way you could at least get the safety message across through some kind of online study and exam. I would also up the licence fees to pay for this and a heavier policing presence.
A lot of people do not understand how dangerous boating can be, it's all serene and peaceful just bobbing about on the water. When things go South on a boat they go south very quickly and folks do not have time to react.
Be prepared.
