I finally found the right line..

now when I am filling my spool, what is the general rule for how much to fill it? I typically fill to about 1/8th of an inch from the edge of the spool... does that sound right? what do you guys do?

It is according what type of reel I'm filling. For spinning I go a little closer to the edge of the spool.

ah, for me it was the triplefish ( www.triplefish.net/ ) I got the xrated for my spinning reel, and the flourocarbon for my baitcaster. been trying every line out there for years, then I finally got some triplefish and it has been great.

The TripleFish X-Rated line has worked well for me.
It is great for spinning reels. I use the 6lb/8lb in X-Rated.

The Camo line is great for crankbaits and jerkbaits, smooth as silk.
I use 10lb Camo for my crankbaits and 12lb for my jerkbaits.

The Flurocarbon is great for Jigs, Carolina Rig.

As you can see, TripleFish has a wide variety to suit most any
angler.

I use Power Pro exclusively on all my rigs. I have been using it for about a year and I am well pleased. Before that I used Suffix it is very good line.

I have fished with everything you can possibly find local or on the net and hated just about all of them until a friend brought me a spool of Maxima ultra green. BY FAR, the best mono on the market. They also make a fluorocarbon that is also unbelievable and its not near as pricey as Sunline or some of the other high $ line.
