Last week I fished twice with my dad. We fished the Tuesday night big fish and I caught my first bass in a while, it was maybe 6" on a 4" worm. Dang thing thought he was moby dick though.
We then went back Friday, fished all day with my only fish being abotu a pound and a quarter caught on a crankbait after one of the two sets of thunderstorms rolled through. My dad caught a few on a slider and a worm both days.
Still getting used to fishing so deep and still having issues feeling the bites. First night had a fish bite a spider grub in half and had two rip off the tails of my finesse worm. I set the hook on all of them, must have been little fish or else they really didn't want what I was throwing.

Question is this, seems like everytime my dad and I fish it rains which is supposed to be great for fishing. Do the spots just not move in toward shore when it rains like largemouths do, or are we just missing them?

Occasionalfisher, Typically the fish become more active on a prefront and kinda go inactive on a post front. OUr fronts right now are not that major like we have during the spring and winter time of the year. I don't think they move shallower but I do think they become a little more active. Thats must my experience but might vary with other folks.

As far as you feeling the bites. I got 2 words for ya. FLUOROCARBON LINE. What feels like mush with nylong monofilament will be amplified a few times when you are using fluorocarbon line.

Mike you forgot to tell him that Triplefish is the best flouro out there. Killian and I tried most of the flouro on the market and the Triplefish is the best we found.

Thanks guys. I have florocarbon on one reel and it does make a difference. About to go to bass pro and buy out that isle in other sizes. I like the stuff as well.
