Boat Ramp/Park pass headache.

Got a question. I am all confused these days on boat ramp/park pass around Allatoona.

I know Little river requires different parking pass than Gaults (Cherokee county pass and DNR pass). But what about Gatewood, Cooper branch, and Red top? Do they require yet 3 other different passes? Thanks.

Red top is a GA State park so yes it requires a different parking pass then Cherokee County ramps(Fields Landing and Little River), and which are different then Gaults, Cooper Branch. So for those to use often, yes you would need 3 DIFFERENT annual passes. I'm not sure of Gatewood. I used to use Little River a lot (closest to the house) but gave that up when the Corp. leased it to Cherokee county and I needed 2 passes. I also try to avoid Red Top mountain for the same reason, i'll put in at Blockhouse or Stamp Creek.

Gatewood is the Bartow County ramp and you can get your annual pass in January for $30. or $3.00 each time you launch.

Thanks guys. How many boat trailer parking slots are there at Cooper Branch? And can you park just on the side of the road if it's full? Looking from the lake when I was there didn't look like there were many slots at all. Thanks.

Coopers Branch has 5 slots near the water and about 8 just up the hill. I have never seen them all full in 20 years. There is no "side" of the road to park on at Coopers Branch.

Gaults Ferry, Stamp Creek, Coopers Branch, Tanyard Creek and a host of other ramps use the Corps of Engineers passes. These ramps get you access to many parts of the lake. The COE pass is the only one I have needed in these past 10 years.

QUESTION...We paid $40 for a yearly parking pass in Acworth Ga. I am wondering WHY WE CANNOT USE THIS PASS AT ALL BOAT RAMPS AT ALLATOONA LAKE?
So what I was told when we bought this pass was we could use it at ALL boat ramps & sure as crap stinks, the VERY same person told me a couple of week later that it was ONLY good for state park boat ramps...if that is true...I WANT MY MONEY BACK
