Hi Guys I am a new member, I was home on R&R and while I was there I ran across a deal in Ranger Comanche 487VS anyway the guy had let the boat set out side for a couple of years and the fenders have faded somewhat.....
The question is; do any of you gentlemen have any Idea who I use to repaint the fenders and motor cover...
Would appreciate comments on the boat also did not have a lot of time to research the model of the hull, I do know it has a 15 inch offset in the back where the hydraulic jack plate and Motor is attached.
thanks in advance for any comments while I am currently viewing and utilizing the site setting in Baghdad Iraq, ha ha not a whole lot of good fishing over here
but since I found this site you guys are really getting me primed up and ready to go, thanks again for the site ;D

Barry,
Depending on your location, I would check with several auto body shops. Precision Rebuilders, a board sponsor, has a paint shop and he is located in Chamblee . I know Danny Candler (Dcan), the owner and a member of this site, would do it but you would have to see him for a quote.

Barry depending on just how bad the paint has oxidized you may be able to bring it back by wet sanding it with 600 or finer wet sand paper then buffing and polishing. Stay safe and thank you for your endeavors in Baghdad.

It just requires a little repetition on the biceps! lol It's really simple, keep the sandpaper wet and sand until it feels smooth. rinse off and buy a bottle of 3M polishing compound (liquid) and rub it in really good, buff it off and apply some quality Carnauba wax to it. When you're done (about 2 hours max for those fenders), you will be pleasantly surprised and proud that you did it yourself.

If you live in Cartersville, look me up when you get home. I live out off GA 20 and Rolling Springs Rd in the Southern Oaks Subdivision. Maybe I can help you with that trailer?

Cool I will do that, is that the road that turnes up besides Wendeys off GA 20 that goes to the lake towards gatewood? No, but you're close. Keep going past that towards Canton and go over the hill and look for the next intersection (Left is Simpson Loop and right is Rolling Springs Rd. You can turn right there then left by the church on Dean Rd. to get to our neighborhood. Otherwise you can continue out 20 and turn right on Ranger Rd. before you get tothe Vulcan Materials entrance. You get your booty home and we'll get together.
