Good Luck on that, jason. Rebuild that fuel pump at the same time to save you additional grief! Easier to get all done while you are down.

Good Idea on the fuel pump Bob, it needed to be rebuilt. Found my float to be way off during the carb rebuild. other than that it's all clean now and hopefully the flooding will stop.

Glad to hear that's all is wrong. I'm never that lucky. Just thought of something, are you using the NGK spark plugs? Reason i ask, is because i made the mistake onetime and used champions and they fouled out in about 4 trips out. I was later informed to always use NGK in these motors.

Yeah, NGK, expensive but they seem to work well.

Merc is back together and the Idle is back to where it needs to be which is a good thing. No flooding, cranking easily and waterpump kicking out a nice stream of water. Lake test in the am.
Two more things to get done, new bushing pressed into Prop and re-weld the wench stand. woohoo , that takes care of all the mechanics. maybe I'll work on the speedo and tach and get those working next.

Forget the speedo, women frown at those things on some bodies! Seriously don't worry about the speedo if you got GPS. See about trading your prop for a newer one with the removable hub, makes life a whole lot easier!

My Prop was a Tempest SS Prop, the hub just fell out. So, 31 bucks later, no more play in the Prop. Flo Torq Ii and I even had a 1"1/16 socket. Took me less time to remove and install than it did to drive to get the part. $49.99 plus some store credit make it a $31 fix.
Hopefully welding Friday or Saturday. Speedo isn't a real problem (in England), but I would like to get the Tach working.
Heh course with the Speedo you are referring to Bob, and my belly peeps would think I am walking around nekkid and call da law. HA HA
