Hi everyone, I just found the board after some searching. I moved to Yorkville after 18 painfull years in central Florida , where I fished in two Florida Federation Bass clubs and in many Redman and Bass Opens. After a ten year year break I have another boat and am looking forward to learning the lake and fish some tournaments. As I am a retired veteran I want to give an open inventation for anyone who does not have a boat, to join me fishing. ;D As I have years of fishing the dish pan lakes in Florida flipping is my strong point with over 50 10lb's boated in those years. Mostly from Toho, the Big O, and Istokpogo...I'm looking forward to sharpening my deep water skills I was broke in on the lake this last Sunday, I was astounded to see all the boat traffic...I'm certain when the weather cools off it will cut the traffic also... ;D

dturnersr, Welcome to the forum. You've done a complete 360 going from Florida to North Georgia fishing. If you fish during the week the traffic isn't bad at all. It's the weekend thats the doozie.

Allatoona is nothing like Fl. lakes. It is a completely different mind set. Deep water.....Yes...but size and frequency of fish is totally different. Anyway, Welcome and you will find this forum is full of nice folks. Enjoy!

Welcome dturnersr. Yeah the toona is a real beast during the summer, but when it starts getting cooler it gets a lt better. Everyone here are willing to help where they can.

thanks for the greetings.... ;D I am looking forward to some deep water fishing... I have three boxes of Poe's, Norman's, and Mann's that have been waiting for years to get wet. I am pretty sure plastic's will still work here at 20' like they did at 2' in Florida.

Welcome to the board. I'm a regular ABA fisherman. A non-boater though. If you want to get out and get aquated with Allatoona, please drop me a line. I would be happy to tag along and show you the ropes.

Welcome aboard.
I am also a retired vet. 20 years in the Navy. Toona is a big change from FL lakes. It might take a little time to get use to the finesse fishing.
If you are interested in getting back into tournament fishing I run the ABA district on Toona. Just shoot me a line.

I have fished fresh when I was in the Army but since being home I concentrated on the flats for reds and snook. I am looking to get back into fresh and cant wait to get into some strippers!! If you every want to fish with a fellow southerner please send me a message would love to go out and explore the lake with you. I sold my boat before we moved so I am stuck on land, For Now..... Good luck brother

Another ex Floridian up here.I just moved up to Ball Ground from Orlando. I have a Blazer bass boat and I did alot of fishing in TOHO, St Johns River and Everglades. I went out yesturday on Alatoona and boated my first spot. I realize I am going to need to spend some time on the water nothing like Fl. Im looking to join a Club and learn as much as I can.
