Not sure if this its normal or if there is a fix...what I set the TM to constant moving, it its a struggle to keep it straight. The TM starts turning instead of running the direction I want it to. If I keep it on the lowest speed and there are no waves/current and u stand in the exact middle of boat it will run straight, but if anything shifts so does the TM. Basically I spend more time trying to run straight than I do fishing if I am trying to work a shoreline...any suggestions or is that just the way it is?

I would venture to say its due to weight shifting around when hit by the waves and current,, IF you want Trolling Motor to track straight, you need to look at the Minn Kota I-Pilot series. Its a electric steer motor but has a built in like GPS feature that will keep you straight, record a track or Spot lock.

That's what I figured. Didn't know if I tightened a set screw on the cable steering somehow if it would tighten it up and keep it straighter

You should have a adjustment for the cable ease of movement. On mine it is on the foot pedal. Turn it one way and it gets harder to make the pedal move the motor. Turn it the other way and the motor changes direction easier.
