I achieved a lifetime goal 2 weeks ago, landing a Bull Shark from the beach. Bait was a 20 inch speckled trout I Kayaked out just before Sunset. Rod was a 50-80lb, with 700 yds of 50lb liine topped with 80lb snag leader, 400lb wire trace with a 20/0 circle hook. My wife lost a bigger one the following night in the surf. We can't wait to go again :-)

One of my favorite ways to fish. I pulled in a bull shark last year this same time about 4 ft. Used 40 lb braid. So much fun. Try cut sting ray as well they can't leave it alone!

It's a blast, isn't it? Me and a few friends got into shark fishing from the surf this summer and it is about all we want to do now. If your ever needing a crew to go fish with, let me know. We have a couple 9/0's and a 14/0, so we can bomb some baits pretty deep.

Dang Gordon you didn't finesse them did you LOL. I caught 2 Hammerheads on a flipping stick with 25lb big game LOL They were in the 7 to 8ft range going on memory. I'd have to look for the pics that I have..
