Well had the day off friday and we're heading out of town the day after christmas, so decided to try a get a day of fishing in. My biggest concern was bait and whether I'd be able to catch any with the temps dropping below freezing. Threw in a few different places and in about an hour had more than I needed. With the wind whipping like it was I took my time crusing to the first stop mid lake. Got there and was marking fish. The problem was the wind was blowing the pontoon around like a kite. I have an i-pilot and was hoping the anchor-lock would hold me in place - no luck... If it would have been a steady wind, I think i would have been fine, but one second it was 5mph the next 25mph. Long story short, first stop resulted in 2 fish and lots of fighting to stay in place. Decided to try and find an area out of the wind, but every one I did find had zero fish. All the fish were in deep water and seemed to be the windiest spots on the lake. Ran a little further south closer to the dam and marked more fish, but again, the wind kicked my butt. I landed 1 more fish and wanted to try one more spot I thought be produce and be out of the wind. But hand no luck there so decided to head home and warm up. Cold, heat, rain, snow - no problem. Wind - I hate it! Hope to get out either tomorrow or monday morning and try again.
