My brother is planning a trip from Florida to Carters Lake. He will have a 26' camper in tow and a Harley in the bed of the truck. He wants to camp where he can ride the bike on some nice paved mountain roads during the day. I suggested he go to Carters but I have not been there myself in years, I'm sorry to say.
My question is which would be the best campground for him to camp at Doll Mountain or Woodring?

Either one, Ray. There are some nice campgrounds up around Ellijay, and Blueridge too.

It's been a while but I have camped at both and either are good campgrounds but I think I prefer Doll Mountain over Woodring. Like I said both are good if the lake is where he would like to be and as Bob said there are other campgrounds around the area also.

Thanks for the help, I forgot to mention that my brother has had both hips replaced and I know Doll Mtn. is fairly steep, but what about Woodring? Would Woodring be more level and therefore easier for him to walk around on?

Leapnlineman, that's hard to say one is better than the other for walking. Wish I could be more help but as I said it's been a while since I've done any camping at Carters Lake. I was much younger then and now I would have a harder time getting around (lol).
