I just have a 15' jon boat with a 20hp. that I bought for my pre-retirement, nothing fancy. I attempt to fish Allatoona since it is the closes to the house but seldom very successful. Hope to get some idea from others. I put in at Red Top Mtn. Park.

What type of fish are you looking to catch. Welcome to Allatoona Bass.

Welcome to the board Donald. I am also retired and fairly new to area. I've been fishing Carters and Altoona recently and having fair sucess. Waiting to have total knee replacement on the 14th and will be down for a couple of months. Hard to find someone retired and able to fish with on the drop of a hat. Maybe we can get together after I get my legs back.
Take care and God Bless

I'm re-retired myself and interested in doing some fishing during the week if ya'll get ready (after November, deer season you know). Don, Gatewood is a good place to put in if it's close enough and the red top area is just minutes away.
