Hey y'all my name is Claude and I'll be moving to canton,GA around July 25th 2015. I'm coming from va beach, VA. Here at home (for now) I fish both fresh and salt water. I'm loving this forum and the things I'm seeing about lake Allatoona, I will be moving about 5-10 mins from Little River Marina. I've noticed that this lake is bigger and deeper with bigger boats and motors than what I'm use to competing on here back at home, I currently compete in local tournaments singles/doubles prize money involved but these lakes are regulated to 9.9HP motors. So when I bought my boat in February a 2015 Bass Tracker pro160 I took the standard 20HP motor off and swapped it out for a 9.9HP to be able to do these lakes and tourneys. So that's what I'm working with for now. I'm aware of bigger boats wakes and the bigger channels and how not to get rolled or swamped lol. Anyways, what are some clubs or local trails that might suit these needs or specs? I can compete with the big boys, just don't want to spend to much money....I've gotta keep the wife off my back if you know what I mean! Lol. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Fish on!

Welcome, I am the tournament director for the Cast-A-Way Bass Club of NW Georgia (link in my sig). I see a bigger motor on that boat (or a bigger boat) in your future! lol. We are not affiliated with anybody, not a farm league for the majors or anything like that. Be sure and check out the Georgia Fishing Forum also in my link. Not trying to farm anyone away from this site, I also spend a lot of time over here. Great place for Allatoona info and Carters Lake info in the winter. Great bunch of guys too.

Claude welcome to the forum, I'm sure that you will find a wealth of info here about Allatoona. One of the good things about larger lakes is that there are places that can be enjoyed by all types of watercraft. Little River will be no problem for your size of boat and motor. But, like bob said I will be willing to bet that in the future you will be looking to upgrade if you continue to fish Allatoona. Bob runs a friendly tournament and if you trailer your boat to the Gatewood ramp you would be safe fishing McKaskey Creek where it is located. Good luck to you on the "Toona" and post when you can.

Thanks for the input leaplineman and I will definitely look into that spot.Any other tips or ramps etc.... Would be greatly appreciated, as I will be new to this part of the world and do not know my way around. I am searching and browsing everything. Super excited! Also I paint cars for a living so if anyone knows of a good dealership or a paint shop that might be looking for a new painter I can send my resume etc... As my move in date to the new home won't be until July 25th

Kellogg Creek would be another good place for you, you might find it listed as Payne Creek Boat Ramp.
