Greetings fellas! I’m new to the forums and new to Georgia. As a newbie to the area, I’m in search of local knowledge. Not a big tournament guy...I just enjoy getting out on the water, wetting a line and catching some bass. I’ve got a trailered 16 ft john with a 18hp Mercury. It’s designed to fish skinny waters of the northeast where getting into shallow river and lake launches is critical. From what I can see, stripers are mainly targeted on Allatoona (and Lanier), but my passion is catching green bass! I’m hoping to connect with some of you in the coming months, maybe show me the ropes, and of course share an open seat on my little rig. Thanks guys! -Vinny

Green Fish are a big target on Allatoona, with a lot of tournaments going on on both ends of the lake. Welcome to the board, just keep an eye out, maybe the board will pick up in a month or two.

You and what seems like everyone else in the metro Atlanta area are targeting green fish on these lakes lol. If you like to fish tournaments, there is a Sunday afternoon tournament out of the Gatewood Ramp every weekend for the next month or so and they welcome everyone. Porko posts it in the tournament thread on this forum.

Welcome to the forum, you will find a lot of good info here. Plus a bunch of good fella's who will share a little of their knowledge, if you just ask them.
