Hi All, I just moved down here to Newnan, Georgia 4 months ago. I am from Michigan. I sure do miss fishing for smallmouths on Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. I have had the opportunity to catch a few spots and they seem to fight like a smallmouth. I hear there are some pretty good spots in Lake Allatoona. I will be fishing this coming weekend on the lake. I have a question to ask do the spots like tubes as much as the smallies do or are there some other baits that I should get to catch some of these big spots. TritonMike sure has some nice photos of some big spots. Hopefully I can catch a few like that. If any of you have any tips to offer please feel free to e-mail me or post on what to use or where to go. Thanks Mike

First of all, welcome to Georgia and AllatoonaBass.Com. Secondly, we would ALL like to catch spots like Mike! We have discussed this among our selfs and have come to the conclusion Mike has a billboard painted on the bottom of his boat that says...
"Free Bass Buffet-No Strings Attached"
Some of the other guys will give you some help on catchin' spots. I'm just learning too.

welcome aboard!
not sure about the tubes on Allatoona as I have never tried them there. for me, lately, the spoon has been magic. granted we aren't catching 4 lbers, but lots of 2s lately.

Welcome bucketmouths. I am also a long-lost Michigander. I have spent a lot of time on Erie as well as many MI inland lakes. I have not had much luck with tubes here. I really think tubes are a smallmouth thing- spots just wouldn't understand.LOL
