Hi All,
I have just recently discovered this board and it looks great. I have grown up in the area and just recently moved to Acworth with my family and would like to start fishing allatoona more. I am very familiar with the area and grow up finsing on the lake with friends whenever I could (or got invited) but never had much luck. I do a lot of fly fishing now for trout, bass and saltwater but since I am so close to teh lak now I thought I should get my bass and crappie gear out again and start hitting it. I have a small river hawk boat with a 15 HP and a trolling motor.
I want to get out this weekend with a friend and wanted to ask for some general advice on a good location to try and hit and some baits to try. I would not ask anyone for their secret honey hole. I am really just looking for a general area that the fishing has been good (i.e. stamp creek, blockhouse, knox bridge, Little River, Kellog creek, etc.) and what kind of baits we should try.
Any help is appreciated. Please PM me if you want too. If we catch anything I will post a report.
Oh, has anyone been in Acworth Lake lately?
Thanks to all.

Welcome to the site! Don't be so quick to put that fly gear away. There are a few of us having a blast pulling BASS and PAN FISH out of Allatoona.
Fly fishing from a boat is great! You can back cast forever! LOL
This weekend try a olive woolybugger near rock faces and in the coves.

Thanks for the tip Fly Guy. I always carry a a fly rod with me and have had good luck on olive and black streamers. But right now I am feeling to need to get the old bass rods cleaned up and relined. We are hopefully going to get out this Saturday afternoon in the boat. Thinking about trying stamp creek or around the wilderness areas. Does anyone know what the water is looking like in those areas??

stamp and wilderness are definitely fun areas to fish. last time I was there the water in wilderness was more clear than stained, up into stamp there was some stain. I forget the temps that I saw.

Welcome. You'll improve your chances on this lake if you devote yourself to worm fishing only, IT RULES !!! lol
