Ran my motor in some muck last week trying to get the boat off the trailer, ALONE, (25hp 4s Merc) and my pee hole got clogged up. I know it was the problem and only used the motor to load the boat. Small lake and using electric all day. When i got home, i noticed the pee hole is fitted for a hose I screwed the hose in and backwards flushed it at low pressure. Is this the right thing to do, or was that a bad thing? Just wondering why it is fitted for a hose, for flushing, or is that to direct outflow durring testing and working on or whatever? Next couple times out everythig worked fine.

That is there for that purpose and if you use it in salt water you should do it every time.
