Can anyone tell me the closest place from Dallas/Hiram area to purchase Mercury Optimax Premium Two Stroke Oil.
Second ?: If I use Quicksilver Oil instead of the Mercury Optimax Premium Two Stroke Oil, will this be a bad thing?
Thanks for any help.

I would only run OPTI OIL it is made to run in that engine and when you start mixing oils you could wind up having it turn to gel or jelly because of the make up of two different oils. BAY MARINE in Kennesaw has the oil.

This is a touchy subject. I try to use Mercury oil, but it just isn't always available when I need it. I would recomend running it if you are under warranty, but if not, forget about it and just make sure you are running a premium oil. They will tell you Merc only, but it is all nearly the same. Many fishermen including pro's with new engines use Penzoil and Amsoil in their engines.
Just my opinion.

Thanks for the help. I would only like to use the Optimax Premium Oil but I am having a hard time finding it. That is the only reason why I considered changing oil types. I will try Bay Marine.

Thanks again for the good info. I guess sometimes it actually help to read the owners manual. I found out that the approved oils for my engine are the Optimax Premium and the Quicksilver oil. I believe that Wally Mart carries the Quicksilver brand so that will make things much more convenient for me.

I was in Bay Marine yesterday at the recommendation of Anthony. They have a ton of Opti Oil. Stop in and pick you up some. -T
