These pics are some of the real reasons why I like to fish. The pic of this fox squirriel doesn't do it justice to it's size. I have hunted with the fox squirriels for many many years in the Piney woods of Mississippi. In fact my dad got one that he got mounted by a renowned taxidermist in the south and he has never seen one as big as that one he got. This one would probably beat it or atleast match it body size. But my dads was a bit longer very very long tail. I got within 10 yards of this squirriel LOL. I have been seeing more and more fox squirriels every year. Beautiful animals to the point that I have only killed one to date primarily because I think they are too dang pretty to shoot. Now a gray squirriel I have no mercy on. I also have a solid black squirriel that I got out of the Mississippi Delta a few years back. Again I only got one of those just to mount. Beautiful squirriels. Also a nice deer pic. Dang nice big framed deer. I wish we would see them more often. I have been seeing alot of foxes lately. Mike

Lou and I watched a fox squirrel playing during the one fish wonder. we also were quite close, and it was definitely not afraid of us ;D
I too have been seeing more and more of them around the lake, and am glad for it.

There is something about the wildlife that makes the trips more enjoyable. Thanks for the pics.

This squirrel had a black face and brown body... very strange looking. He was in a cove across from the red top boat ramp...

Mike we had a bunch of red fox squirrels in SE Louisiana. Difference was that the face had more white and hardly any black as this one shows. In Louisiana I have taken Red, black and white squirrels with white being size of greys.

Looks like the brown body, dark head, and white nose are pretty common on the fox squirrels around Allatoona. Saw this one on Sunday in the Gaults area.

I'm still waiting to see one, and hope the boys are with me when I do. Being from Illinois, the only one I have seen was while fishin at Clark Hill. I didn't know what it was and thought it was an escaped monkey. Guys in the club had to tell me what it was. But it was more of a grayish color.

Don't ever try to teach a hog to sing. It is a waste of time and it will annoy the hog.

There are some Fox squirrels at West Point but they are darker. There is one near a friends house that is big and white.
