The trim/tilt on my 2003 Yamaha 60HP is leaking down. No sign of any leaking fluid. All rams appear clean and dry. The bypass screw is closed tightly.Should I check fluid level in the reservoir? If so, how. Any other fixes? Thanks for your help. cal

There should be a large phillips head screw on the reservior. Fluid should trickle out if full.

Anthony, Chime in if I am incorrect on this.
1) raise the motor 2) Unscrew the check plug (Most all I have seen is like a LARGE #3 phillips head screw
3) If full fluid should trickle out
4) if no fluid then fill with approiate trim/tilt fluid until it trickles out of the hole (Bay marine has the fluid)
5) replace check plug

Dannyp you got it right. Roym , It could be a check valve in the system or the o-rings on your bypass screw.
