My boat wouldnt start yesterday during our tree cutting. Chris towed me back to the ramp and as we were pulling out I said something to the boat next to us and the guy was a mechanic. He looked at my boat and came up with it had a vapor lock. I dont doubt his word because it ran just after he opened the fuel line at the filter and then put it back on.
I was actually going to call you after getting to the ramp. But this guy got me going. What can be done to prevent this in the future? My motor is a Merc 115 ELPTO 2 cycle engine and I have never had a problem with it till now. It's an 05 model that I had serviced in 06. I stayed sick most of 07 so it hasnt had many hours on it plus I didnt have it for the two months after wrecking it. I know it might be close to 100 hours now so also let me know about how much a service will cost.
If you don't mind please PM me with your phone number & I'll call you.
