Hello, I think I may need to have a water pump repaired or replaced. I noticed a reduced water flow the last time I was out. I was thinking of trying to do this myself....but decided there were too many small parts and special tools... I have not had this type of service performed and was wondering what a "typical" cost would be for this type of service. I know it might vary based on engine type, etc. I was jsut trying to prepare and did not know if something like this would be 200-300 or 400-500 or ?? Does anyone have any ideas on cost ? Thanks....

Expect one hour labor plus parts from most shops. Mr. Hampton may or may not have a different pricing system, but I would take it to him first.

What motor is it? Most water pumps cost between 28.00 to 35.00 for the pump plus labor depending on the engine.

Its a 1985 Mercury 90 hp. I had an estimate for 125-150 for the replacement. Seems reasonable....to get things in order so I can get on the lake..and to make sure it is done right. : )

Anthony,
I had referred my boss to you for an engine inspection on his 150GT. His name is Scott. He said you haven't called him back after the initial phone conv and it's been weeks. I can't really make any excuses to him but would like to know what's up ?
Thanks
